Round 18 v Collingullie Game day roundup

FOOTBALL

Today we welcome Collingullie for 3 huge games of football. For us it’s an elimination final as Collingullie look to cement top spot.

Last weekend we travelled down Edward st to Maher Oval. The under 17’s kick started the day. The boys battled hard all day but unfortunately couldn’t put score board pressure on. As Turvey skipped away we never let up which was pleasing. Riley Green, Xav Lyons and Harry Bennett all had strong games. The boys have a must win clash today in order to play finals.

A week is a long time in football for our reserve grade. From our worst performance to our best. The Flu ripped through camp and with the help from our under 17’s the boys started strongly and finally managed to hang on in a close one winning by 3 points. Jake Osbeiston had a blinder and was well supported by Will Carroll, Pat Harrington and Rob Tuohey. The boys will be looking to knock off another top 3 side this week.

We are in the 5!!! The boys had a pleasing performance and got the job done to move back into the top 5. We slowly kicked away and ran out 49 point winners. Nathan Dowdle has his best game in Tigers colours with plenty of ball and 3 goals. Ben Farrell continued his strong second half of the year and Nathan Cooke and Fred Lovell found a lot of ball. Our season is now in our hands with a win today securing 5th spot and finals action.

Fun Fact. Ash Dikkenburg has kicked 2.18 for the year or 5 goals straight if you ask him.

Go Hard and see you in the bar
